BTW, took the car out for a lengthy drive this pm after the swap. No error codes! Must've hooked everything back up properly.

There's a first time for everything, right?

Thanks for all your posts, especially photos.

Looks like the intercooler elements are fastened with torx screws, might make upgrading the cooler easier .

Laminova cores anyone ?

Removing the cores will be more problematic than it appears. Once the screws are removed, the elements appeared to be siliconed down to the cover and there is an additional adhesive material sealing where the inlet and outlet tubes go through the cover. I gave up trying to remove those elements for fear of causing damage.

He did it solely for the bling. There *is* bling to be had, but no performance benefit.

I vaguely recall he said somewhere else that the extra bling radiates more heat away thereby reducing the IAT and enhancing performance.
Then again I think he was joking or at least wishful thinking!

My project involved nothing more than removing the I/C, having it polished, coated with Ceramic Pro and then reinstalling it. For bling only. Someone else had suggested that polishing it would actually diminish the heat transfer rate from the air plenum to the engine compartment. I suspect that to be spurious conjecture as the design intent of the I/C is for all of the heat exchange to occur between the air plenum and the 2 water filled heat exchangers mounted inside the plenum.
