Use a bendy straw or perhaps a thin walled semi rigid tube like heat shrink? Keeping it on there would be the issue. Corrugated wire loom may work?

 

Think I found it ... Cleaned up my XJS storage room today and found several meter of this plastic tubing.
Rigid enough to be very tight around the piping, flexible enough to follow the bend.

very cool if you're thinking about doing weddings I'd guess, something tells me Jaguar offered a fridge? Bottle of Bolly or some such for a special occasion, just make sure there are no stiletto marks in the roof lining

 

I think someone has some time on their hands? So in saying, I'd tuck trim the opening (perhaps backset) with LED. Perhaps put a magnetic bottom on the glasses and metal base cubby so when they set them down they don't tip.

 

I think that's the entire point of these seats in the first place

I was actually discussing swapping interiors with a UK guy doing weddings.
He was considering purchasing a Daimler with these seats, and did not favor them, as newly weds want to sit close to each other ...
They are probably also pretty uncomfortable for anything else than just sitting, so I guess my headliner will be free of those stiletto marks .

Yes, I got the same idea, with a small traditional 1~2W bulb above each glass, illuminating it from the top, must be classical ...
Below just a LED torch tucked in front ... I don't like the white LED light, but love the idea in general.

During the purchase process, I several times wondered how it should be if I had to drive 600 miles (~1.000km) for somebody on a forum I didn't know ... but Stu just delivered on all his promises!

On the seats, I went to get the dye for the seats and the piping.
Had to wait some hours (perfectly spend with some real nice Indonesian food), then I was quite happy with the samples.

However, after applying the ivory on some small parts, it did not turn out as expected, too grey/greenish ...
So I did some experimenting with adding white paint, and I am rather sure I can get the nice creamy touch of Ivory.
Supplier sent me a bottle of white, so more to come next week.

 

I was actually looking at them myself and had them on my watch list on eBay.
Was quite disappointed when the seller took them off but at least I know they went to a good home now.
Tales like this restores your faith in human nature.I look forward to reading about Eric's progress with the seats.

Dying the interior requires a lot of waiting time, so perfect to work on the glass holder.
I have never ever in my life made anything like this, but love these little 3-D mind games.
Although it is basically made from left over materials, it is coming along nicely so far.

 

Its looking really nice Eric. If I may make a suggestion, for the glass stems slot, make an insert (orange) that is flush at the top, but extends down to the base. Or a simpler design would be to put pieces inset (green) under that base to probably more easily accomplish that. Because when you stop or accelerate, the momentum will carry the top heavy glass forward/back and either spill the substance or just have banging empty glasses. Sorry about the crappy design using Paint.

I don't see any full glasses during driving anyway ... no food and drinks in this car ... posing, just posing ...

My main concern was/is noises and the glasses banging at the bottle.
I considered something like you suggest, and made various different samples.
However, as the glass foot is conical, I ended up with the foam under the bracket, which basically pushes the foot down, which is then further held by the pressure of the leather in the slot ... yeahhh, there is science in all of this .
I can rock the casing any direction and angle, they go nowhere.

 

Or hidden clips on the bottom stems to keep the light and sleek design .

There are white LEDs that have a built in independent twinkling circuit for each independent bulb for Christmas trees light strings , but the single steady light looks more elegant . But it might be a way to diffuse the light in a steady state LED array .

Wondering If I could do the same with my Sovereign non - deluxe rear seat with no middle bench . There is a X300 VDP in the salvage yard with the rear seat to look at for options .

The X300 Sovereign rear seat does have a factory built in fold down aft armrest leaving a cavity to work with , but the factory armrest cavity does not go high and all the way up like your captains chairs for better presentation . Would have to total remove the fold down piece to have a tall enough space for a small bottle . Can't have everything .

Installing acquired picnic tables and required front seatbacks later after priorities .

 

Bentley and Rolls have come up with some innovative solutions over the years. I particularly like their current console option for the Bentayga, where the glasses don't have a flat bottom, they just taper down to a point, and fit into conicle holes

And I can't remember who it was, but somebody made champagne flutes with metal bases, that stuck to little magnets at the bottom of the cup holders.

Of course, both of these require custom glassware... probably not necessary just at this point
