Default Electronic gremlins

I'm coming across as really needy, but it's only because I'm in deep Jaguar water and haven't begun to swim yet.

My video information screen went blank a couple of days ago. It was showing the Jaguar, then blank then Jaguar again ad infinitum. A few hours later I opened the driver door and heard a humming noise, stop, hummingl, stop, ... like an actuator door trying to open.

Then I played with pressing the start button first, waiting for the initialization, then starting. It didn't work then but when I got into it the next day all was normal with the home screen lighting up.

I took her out for an hour cruise today and the info video screen was on. About five miles out it went blank to the Jaguar logo. I floored her and kicked in the supercharger (WOW) and the screen started working again. I now suspect that there is a loose connection somewhere.

Anybody else have a similar issue? Thanks!

That should go in the stickies section.

Mine has a new battery probably two months ago. The car is driven about every third day or so. Would the additional RPM from jumping on the accelerator cause the alternator to juice it up enough to wake up the info screen?

The age of a battery is immaterial. Use a voltmeter to read the available voltage across the battery terminals with the ignition in the OFF position for at least 30 minutes.

The voltmeter should indicate a minimum of 12.6 volts available. If the voltmeter shows less than 12.6 volts, charge the battery for five hours at 2 to 5 amps and retest.

"NEW" has nothing to do with State-of-Charge. It was probably low voltage by sitting in the factory, then sitting in a warehouse, then sitting at the retailer.
