Double Din In XKR - Got it to Work!
Not feelin' the love for your blue center panel. Forget about trying to 'wrap' your center panel...or even find a match to existing panels. Get another set of wood panels from a parts car. They pop off easily and you can have the interior looking good again w/o much hassle.
You'd have to see the color scheme, in this one I'm not convinced wood really works. But I have time and this is a project car. I have replacment panels for every part and that is what I'm wrapping anyway. One panel part I'm concerned about pulling is the one over the Air Bag. If you've had yours off, any trick to that?
I'm on the fence about the matte look, but the wrap is an interesting idea. What do you think of them compared to a respray? Do they hold up? Cost effective?
I will be at Silverstone
...... Dont you just hate it when somebody else claims your work for there own I dont think he has posted since that escapade LOL
This is the best look so far. I'm partial to the wood myself, but this black look matches the rest of the car much better.
BTW, is your a-pillar and header done in a lighter color? Or is the exposure on the picture off?

In the process of all of this (went through every fuse) discover why the car is running hot, evidently the intercooler pump fuse is blowing. That damn pump is a $500 item so my hope is that the wire was shorted when the blower was pulled off to fix the fuel rails. However bet is that the pump has failed. No visible warning to the problem other than the car cooling fans run excessively and nasty pinging. Heat may be causing one of the smog sensors to fail but I just got lucky on the fuse.

The monochrome works. Black out the shift knob, and you're good to go.
Looks vastly better now! It's been fun and educational watching you work this out.
You could do this for a business you know?
Wow now that's a good piece of information!

Didn't move them, they are right where Jaguar put them in the first place. This shot shows that, this was the initial dash treatment (blue) since went to black and black graphite.
Thanks. After asking, hubby saw it in the other posts. It sure helps to look doesn't it, which I thought I did but not very well apparently. I sure appreciate you answering though. This is definitely his next project.
I found the installer I used by asking a guy who had a leading show car who he had used to do his installation. The mount is difficult to do, clearance is pretty tight. You want someone who does difficult installs to attempt this otherwise you're likely to have problems. You don't want someone who doesn't do much fabrication to attempt this.
