Default 420 throttle-carb hookup

1967 420 rebuilt in 1986 and kept at MAN. Just before MOT rear carb float dead. Removed carbs, rebuilt and replaced. But retaining clips for several throttle links were missing/perished and throttle linkage fell apart as carbs removed. Having difficulty reconnecting throttle linkages as I cannot find any diagrams in 420 service manual that are useful. Had to re-tension spring securing throttle pivot (requiring disassembly of throttle linkage) and that is source of problem. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Try going into the SNG Barratt catalog (Google SNG Barratt USA) and looking at the carburetor picture in there. It seems to show all the linkages, and you can see what you might be missing, and somewhat how it all fits together. Parts catalogs are really good sources for figuring how parts fit together during re-assembly. Much better than a workshop manual.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the information. I finally managed to struggle through the throttle set-up. Now finishing carb synch. Thanks again. Take care.

How ere you able to get around the linkage retaining clips? I am having the same issue, and looking to replace them. What did you do?
