Hi to alls
Does anyone recognize this type of oil pressure sensor on a 1962 Jaguar MK2?
I have a leak at this sensor and need to replace it.
However, I can’t seem to find this model
Can I use a standard model available from regular suppliers given that the question on the thread ?
My best regards
Gérard
I have never seen that type of sender. Assuming that someone did not ruin the threads installing the mystery sender, the standard Jaguar type should work.
The thread on the correct sender (and the matching filter housing, of course) is a fairly unusual British straight pipe thread. It is not a tapered thread and it is not 1/2-20 even though the latter will thread in a few turns before seizing.
Since it is not a pipe thread, the copper washer is critical for sealing.
I put a new oil pressure switch on my '66 S Type a couple of years ago and it was a BSP parallel thread. I got a replacement switch from my local motor factor and it works fine.
