Hi all,
Today i did major service to my x50 3.0 V6
New water pump
New alternator
New aux. belt complete oil filters etc.
After finishing and starting the car the battery light is on and the fan is running all time
At the battery i get 14 volts so seems to charge
One fault keeps coming back P1146 when i reset battery light goes out fan stops but after a few seconds they go again.
Could it be air in the system because i drained the coolant?
If the alternator is charging 14V is that ok?
I don't know where to start looking for the problem
When the engine is running and you touch the pedal a small whistling sound is coming from the engine
during the water pump a vacuum line from the secondary air intake system broke but i fixed that with silicone hose so should be tight.
where should i look?
The normally never runs this is the first time i heard it.
The car drives normal only the fault code keeps coming back.

Thanks for support the problem is solved, the alternator was the problem.
i bought an 120A and thought that would be an upgrade hmmm
In the online shop they say this product is suitable for your car hmmm guess they donīt know all about the electronics in the jaguar.
The old alternator was not bad so i swapped it back.
