Hi, I have a question about the master window switch. I bought a used master switch and installed it today. While rolling up the windows, the automatic function on all four buttons works fine, and they roll up with one click. However, the automatic function does not work when rolling down the windows with the master switch on the driver's door. To roll them down, I need to keep the button depressed on the master switch.
The individual buttons on each door, except the driver's door, work fine. The passenger and both rear doors' windows can be rolled up or down with a single click.
The door mirror adjustment and automatic door mirror fold options work fine.
Could it be that I bought the switch for a lower trim level?
Hi Farooq,
Try resetting the auto function on the windows. Open each window to the bottom and hold the switch in the operating position for two seconds. Close the window and again hold the switch in the operating position for two seconds. This should reset the auto function. This needs to be done when the battery is disconnected. Removing the switch is effectively disconnecting its battery.
Thank you for the suggestion. I tried doing that a few times, but it does not work. One touch-up works fine for all 4 windows, but one touch-down is not working with the master switch. I also noticed that when I pull the buttons up, I can feel that it initially sort of stops and then, with a click, moves again.
Whereas when pushed down, the buttons get completely depressed, and there is no click sound or two-step feeling. I think the problem is with the replaced switch. Either it is from a model that did not have one-click down or all buttons on the switch are defective.
