Quick question?

I have a 95 XJS 2+2 which I see in the top corner of the drivers footwell (US Car) under the dash, has what appears to be a OBD II sensor plug.
I am wondering if this is OBD II ? and if a generic OBD II reader would work or is a specific make of reader required.

My apologies if this has been asked before but I had a look in the archives and couldn't find anything specific, although that could just be me.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

AJ16 six cylinder -yes
