Default Marelli - which HT leads

Hello everyone,

I recently became the proud owner of a 1989 XJ-S V12!

I intend to give it a full service & check-over as there are a couple of minor obvious issues (oil leaks/ coolant weeps / engine runs but not quite 100% etc). One of the first things I decided to do was check the ignition is all OK.

I'm confused as to which set of HT leads to get.

These claim to be for Marelli ignition:
Jaguar Partno_JLM11016*_PLUG LEAD SET XJS V12 MARELLI DIST_David Manners Group with Alts

But so do these, however they are a little more expensive:
Jaguar Partno_JLM11016#_PLUG LEAD SET XJS V12 MARELLI DIST_David Manners Group with Alts

Can anyone advise if the Marelli ignition leads set are even any different to the older Lucas?

I'm based in the UK

Thanks,

Marelli leads are definately different. There is also a tech. Bulletin regarding the layout.

Notice - part numbers ending # are original equipment parts (possibly better quality)and parts ending in * are replacement parts

The difference in the Marelli leads are 2 coil inputs leads and the lengths due to the different cylinder order on the Dissy.

I have Magnacore 8mm, and they work fine. Only down side with hi-performance leads is the added ignition noise in the radio, fixed with a capacitor across the power lead of the radio.

Do'h! I obviously can't read very well!

I've ordered the original equipment part & will post a picture when they arrive compared with what's on the car at the moment (I suspect original) - it may help someone in future.
