colour of primer

Default colour of primer

Hi all my stype r is zircon blue have repaired the bottom of my front bumper where had been scuffed by previous owner was wondering what colour primer do I use to get the best finish and help colour match I am thinking white as zircon blue is quite light opinions welcome

I'd use white or light gray but in any event the colour coat should be sufficiently dense to make it an academic decision.

One important consideration is to use a primer for plastic which has the adhesion to withstand the flexing of the bumper.

ok yes I have a full can of white plastic primer which I had bought for my previous car so I will use that saves me having to go out and buy a can of grey thanks

I usually have blue Jaguars but have had one black X308. My last XK8 was Frost Blue which is similar light metallic to your Zircon. I've noticed from stone chips on all of them, regardless of topcoat, Jaguar use white base coat.

Hope you get a good finish. Scuffs, scrapes and chips are always annoying.
