I've recently acquired a 2012 facelift XK-R - which is a bit of a dream!
As the car was due a service I booked it into the main dealer and requested they do a gearbox service too. However, while the car was in for a service I received a call from the MD saying they didn't have the parts (so who does!?) and that if I wanted the gearbox serviced it would take 13 hours and I'd need to bring it back. I told them to leave it and collected the car with a view to finding an alternative.

After a little bit of hunting around I came across Austrin Gearbox Specialists located just out of Newcastle upon Tyne. Car booked in within a couple of weeks and the service carried out without any hassle by a very experienced team for a reasonable cost. They even washed the car ready for collection. it's independent specialists like these that make owning such vehicles economically possible. Now I just need to find a specialist to do my servicing moving forward.

 

A really good independent is Alan Carr Jaguar service. He is based in North Shields har to find but worth a try, I know he is very busy bit worth a call
