Default Going To France - Need a Proper Spare

I'm of to France for a while. Last year I had to drive back on the mini spare. It was all I could get at the time. This time I want to take a proper spare. Are there dealers on this board who can help. I'm in Berkshire.

Ken,

Are you looking for a new Jaguar full size steel spare wheel and tyre or a good used alloy one?

I go across to France and further afield twice a year and the skinny spare is the only thing that really concerns me. I always used to get hold of a full size spare when I had X300 and X308 saloon but it's not an option with my XK8.

I am a dodo with cars. I just drive them.

I have sports wheel alloys (According to my son - see picture from profile)
I don't mind what I have as long it is a full size spare wheel. I can get a Tyre from my neighbor who is a Tyre distributor.

Can I use any five nut wheel or does it have to match exactly?

Ken

Hi ken,
Why not try searching through your local breakers yards.

You may even find a match for the wheels you have which would be so much better having a matching 5th wheel.

+1

We have a few specialist Jaguar breakers in the UK where you could source a complete wheel.

Check the diameter. The Parts Catalogue lists 16",17" and 18" options on the X-Type.

Lucky man! I wish I was heading off there for a month.

Good to hear you got a wheel sorted out.

Hi Ken,
Glad you got the wheel sorted, don't forget to pack you thermals, it is still bloody cold at the moment. Lol
