Default Jaguar Trackstar

I am interested to know what the UK Forum Members think about the Jaguar Trackstar service.

It was a requirement by my insurer to have a Tracker fitted to my XK.

This is relatively expensive service at currently £147.50 annually, with little to show for in return except peace of mind in tracking the car if stolen.

My limited experience with their Call Centre has not been very positive, so therefore again I would like to hear from other members experience.

From the comment that your experience with their Call Centre has not been very positive, I assume your XK has already been stolen before.

Is a tracker a general insurance requirement in NI or specific to your current insurer? I've noticed in the small print from the major insurers advertising the phrase "excluding Northern Ireland" and wondered what applies there.

Hi Graham
Many thanks for your reply.
No my XK has not been stolen before, my experience with the Call Centre has been down to a feeling of poor Customer Service.
This is the first Jag, or any previous car, I have had to have a Tracker fitted, it was a requirement of LV, I think it is down to the cars performance and price bracket.
Insurance in NI is generally higher that GB, because of higher personal injury payouts, alllegedly.

When I got my xfr all insurers insisted on a tracker EXCEPT Jaguar insurance who said it wasn't necessary.
