Jaguar XJL x351 Firmware Updates
I recently purchased a 2013 Jaguar XJ Portfolio with sports pack, rear entertainment pack and load of cool stuff. It had low mileage and had been sat for nearly a year unused - it appears to be a Jaguar demo that had been forgotten and had just 17,000 miles for a car 3.5 years old - its a great drive.
It needed a service just due to time and I was told it needed 9 software updates which the dealer wanted £100 a piece... I said no, they did the update for the dashboard cluster (for free) which I hope will get rid of the occasional blank screen but the other updates remain to be done. They did not give me the list but it was things like transmission module etc. So basically every update from 2013 to present.
Can anyone tell me if these updates are necessary, will I benefit from them and is there a place that will do them cheaper than £100 - found place in Derby that will for £78 but I thought I would ask the forum first
