Default U.K. Gearbox specialist

Hi guys so today my mechanic and I got my 308 on the ramp to investigate a clunk when I go on and off the throttle at low speed.

I was hoping for a uni joint gone but it's seems the clunk is in the gearbox as if there is backlash?

Has anyone had similar?

Can anyone recommend a specialist to look at it for me.

I'm in Warwickshire any advice / help would be much appreciated

I love this car and want to fix it! But need to find a trustworthy gearbox chap.
Thanks
Neil

Neil,

The two major repairers to go to with Jaguar transmisions in the UK are:

1. Glasgow
Auto Repair Tollcross, Glasgow | Mackie Automatic & Manual Transmissions

2. Bristol
Gearbox Repair- Bristol Transmissions - Automatic- Gearbox Repairs - Manual Transmissions- Transfer Boxes - Differentials -Bristol Transmissions

Geographically an obvious choice there for you.

Graham

Yes, exactly what Graham said

We wet to a forum meet event at Mackies Transmissions around 3 years ago now, very illuminating visit.
