For anyone considering coming along, but unsure whether to or not please come along and join the rest of us.. you know the itinery from further back in the thread.. it is a fantastic chance to put faces (and cars) to names from the forums, to meet everyone in a great location with the sea in front of you, the promenades as the backdrop.. Harwoods Jaguar will be in attendance, we have a great deal on food so you won't go hungry, there will be group photos etc for the forums, I am trying to get us into the local paper with photos, and last but by far the best thing is you will get to see a wide range of Jaguars, different models, engine capacities, and ages all in the one place.. other people there to advise you on any issues you may have with your Jaguar, you may well have tips for other owners.. it is going to be a great day out - a Jaguar sort of TopGear day! And that isn't all - we are also running a convoy down the A23 - a huge block of Jaguars travelling in convoy from Crawley to Brighton.. far enough for a convoy but not so far as to strain any classic Jaguars that may come along.. so if you are undecided please read through the thread, and maybe put your name forward for a great day out!

I've been having a chat with The Brighton & Hove Council Events team regarding next year - yes I told you I was ahead of myself grin, and I have a couple of options for next year I am mulling over, along with pricings.. we can only book Madiera Drive if we have 100+ cars, and not on a bank holiday weekend *or* we can prebook a block of parking bays, which can be done for any day of the year. I will talk to Jaguar about this and see if they are prepared to assist us as the amounts are such that we would need sponsorship to cover them.. I'll update you if I get any feedback - meanwhile if you haven't put your name down for this years meet - why not? If you are free, and at a loose end maybe on the 25th, why not put your name forward and come along and join us.. we have Jaguars (like mine) which are typical workhorses right through to showroom Jaguars, through to Jaguar Supercars all coming along on the day.. so why not put your name forward? You can put your name forward at pistonheads.com , jaguarforums.com , jaguarforum.co.uk , or jaguarownersclub.com and I'll add you in.. If you are not a member of any of the four forums why not join up, or just email me directly at stephen.sheldon@solidlinux.co.uk and I will add you in that way..

Looks like it will be a lot of fun Steve.

I think you need a video camera on a bridge somewhere to catch the convoy.

Hi Norri - that is one of many things I haven't managed to get as far as looking into - sigh. It would be great if we could put some footage up showing the convoy.. I'm open to anyone's ideas ......

Ok I have checked the weather forecast and we should be looking at up to 23 degrees, a light 10mph breeze, and a chance of light showers - so we are hopefully guaranteed as good weather as we could expect on the day :-)

Many thanks Jim :-) Everything is as in place as it can be for the day, and have now started to receive requests to join, from people not on the forums, and hearing that people are passing on the details by word of mouth not just in this part of the country but from quite far afield. Some of the attendees are travelling quite long distances and lodging overnight in the Crawley area in order to make it - It is pretty much guaranteed to be a great day for everyone.. I'm still chasing the newspaper for coverage and trying to put my case to Jaguar for next year as there is always something more I can attempt to do lol
I am really grateful for all the support I have had from everyone for this event and just hope that I have in the end done all I can to make it a good day for everyone..

Just to summarise for anyone who has just found this thread and is wondering whether to come along.. it is on the 25th May, 8:00am start at Pease Pottage Services, 9:00am start at Madeira Drive, Brighton

In the region of 30 Jaguars in convoy down to Brighton with a total of 40 or so attending the meet itself.. Jaguars from all walks of life, all levels of equipment and covering production from 1984 to the current date. V6, V8 and even V12 engines to hear, a wide range of models to look over.

Harwoods Jaguar will be in attendance with a showroom F-Type, lots of knowledge and knowhow about Jaguars all in one place on one day.. a chance to meet the names you may have seen online, a chance to ask those questions you may have, or to answer other peoples questions, a social event starting in Brighton with a big breakfast...

The weather is set to be up to 23 degrees with only a chance of light rain.. why not come along, join in and participate?

Just put your name down on any of the several threads that are running or just email me directly at stephen.sheldon@solidlinux.co.uk - it's a free event, you just pay for your parking, and your big breakfast..

The parking is £10 for four hours or £15 for 12 hours, the big breakfast of breakfast or burger or fish meal plus tea or coffee will be just £5 fixed, and that's it... so why not put your name forward for what is to be a great day out for you and your car?

Hi Steve,

I have just come accross this thread and it just so happens that I am visiting family in Hampshire over the week end. I'd like to be added to the meet at the services for the convoy down to Brighton and spend an hour or three there.

Many thanks,

Andy

This is really shaping up to be a great event - Steve, big kudos to you for organising it, and I hope you get decent weather and everyone has a good time.

Sadly, I can't be there, as I'm off tomorrow in The Beast to visit Ireland and frighten the leprechauns. Have fun - catch you next time...

Steve, I forgot to mention that I will have my seven year old with me.

I don't know who is looking forward to this more, him or me!

Still no luck with the Brighton Argus, so am trying a different tack and trying the Crawley Observer & Crawley News as everything starts off in Crawley - I will let you know if I have any luck with them

Cool

I looks as though I "should" definitely be able to make it, in which case I will join the convoy at Pease Pottage. I will be in my 2007 XK8 convertible (I don't have a 2000 XKR!) as my XJS is still in having some work done on it. Fingers crossed for sunshine!

Please note Jaguars of ALL ages, and ALL models are very very welcome - the wider the range of models, and production years we can manage at the meet, the better.. so whether you have the latest, most loaded Jaguar model, or a classic, or an unusual model AND you are free on the 25th - why not put your name forward and come along? Your only costs will be parking (£10 for four hours or £15 for 12 hours), and a fixed price meal of breakfast or burger or fish plus tea or coffee for £5.00.. Harwoods Jaguar will be in attendance, we are looking at likely 30 or so in the convoy, and up to 50 or so of us in Madiera Drive making a statement - A Jaguar statement..
So why not put your name forward and join in.. everyone a Jaguar enthusiast, lots of knowhow, a chance to put faces and cars to names, enjoy a big breakfast, the sea air with the backdrop of the promenades, group photo's, and more..
