Looking at the list of people hoping to make it to the Spring/Summer Brighton meet 2014 - I can see I have done it again (so far) - where it is said that small is beautiful and perfect - I have with my baby Jag the smallest car and engine of everyone lol.. however they do say beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I think Mike believes it may be SCM's car not mine that takes the crown :-))

Anyone else wanting to come along please pop a post on here, or (if for example from JEC) drop me an email at Stephen.sheldon@solidlinux.co.uk and I will get you added in... We are looking for as many models, spread over as many years as possible, with as many people as possible with the grand master plan of a) a great day out with a chance to meet everyone, put names to faces, and to cars.. and b) swing something with Jaguar for us all..

So please - if you are thinking about signing up please do so.. you are not signing your life away, or saying 100% you can make it, but just showing an interest in coming along and the more that do so the better the chance we can get Jaguar involved.

The last meet - yes it was small, and yes (BRG) I should have taken more photo's :-) .. but it was a really good time out.. made some friends, learnt a few things, we even compared notes with the Mini owners at the Mini meet next door to us, them learning about our cars, and us the intricacies of Minis :-) and yes very enjoyable (and dry) day .. Let's scale this up.. warmer weather, more Jaguar models, hopefully a mix of us and JEC members and a fantastic day.... come on... sign up for a great day out :-)

Hi all . Just had a thought , the last Jaguar monthly Magazine / JEC organised London to

Brighton run will I believe be sometime April ( it has previous years )with the finish

at Maderia Drive which is shut to only those doing the run , so we should miss

that date or see what the JEC say

No problem - For the last meet, we did some date shuffling as the time approached too.

I will see what feedback I get from JEC about a possible combined meet further to my earlier contact with them (hopefully a good response), and in the New Year I will have a look through Brightons event diary and see what dates might be available that the most of us can make.. ideally with some good weather and we can go from there..

Many thanks though for spotting that potential issue, I tend to not always pick up on things like that till the last minute :-)

If anyone has any thoughts on ideal dates, even this far in advance please just post them up for everyone to check out..

Meanwhile - anyone reading this thread, that would like to join in, and come along and help make it a great day please pop a post up on here or if a non member wanting to come along email me as per above...

Hi All,

If we can get the numbers up, and with this meet being in warm weather (likely April/May) and more tourists in Brighton I am hoping we can swing something with Jaguar for the day...

Steve,

SCM's car just makes me go weak at the knees, and I bet I'm not the only one.

Nice to see the Crawley convoy is growing.

Thanks
Mike.

Is there any one else out there with an X-type interested in coming along to the meet? At the moment we have more of the big engine (gorgeous sounding) Jaguars coming along.. it would be nice if anyone with either smaller engined ie. X-Types or classic Jaguars could come along too.... for us to maybe bring the whole range along on the day. Even if like a few of us your beloved Jaguar is a 'family' or 'workhorse' car most days why not treat it to a clean, wax and come along on the day and just enjoy a day like a toned down Top Gear sort of a day with like minded people who like to enjoy their Jaguar cats for what they represent and the heritage they come with whatever model or use they get. Why not treat yourself and your car? Signing up by putting a post up or emailing me to add you does not sign your life away or even cost.. even on the day £7 covers the whole days parking so it wont break the bank and it will be a great day out..

Steve,

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you and all in the South East,

I hope your holiday isn't being too badly disrupted by the weather and power cuts.

Conditions were pretty bad in your area as I drove down to Eurotunnel on Saturday night/Sunday morning but from the News, appear to have got worse since then.

Graham

Hi Graham,
Well, in Crawley it was very, very, windy overnight - a few trees down, fences down and in my case garden chairs gone with no trace :-) *but* fundamentally not as bad as it could have been - we have power, only a few flooded roads, but everyone OK
I hope the weather is somewhat better where you are currently..

I have just emailed all the members I could find in the south east UK, with the link to this thread to see who would like to attend that hasn't seen this thread as they don't frequent the regional area of the forum.. hopefully no-one will be too unhappy at being 'mail dropped' but I thought I would give it a go after at least one member missed the last meet because he didn't know about it ...
May it be a great New Year ahead of us, car issues few and far between, with current friends to reacquaint with, and new friends to be made at the next meet..
Just to recap on so far - we have:
