My recommendation for North Bristol area is:
Filton Central Garage

They have serviced all of my 'special' vehicles (except the Zil). Some of the folks that work there are active in the local Jaguar Enthusiasts' Club and run cats of various types.

Best wishes, Colin

I can highly recommend Jestyn at Thruxton Jaguar, just off the A303 near Andover.

The first picture in his gallery is my old MGC that he painted ages ago!

If I need specialist help outside the dealer network, Jagtech Ltd is the place to go in the North East of England:

Thanks Graham, appreciate the heads up and will be added to the list.

I also believe that the Jag Specialist in Doncaster gets a good name?

I will be visiting with him on Monday so will make note and report back

I have always had a positive and pleasurable experience at H A Fox of Doncaster. Also worthy of mention for anyone in the Hampshire area is Jagcare, located just outside Portsmouth.

Hope this helps Jim,

Jim,

I'll be interested to hear your reports on Chris Isles new venture. He has plenty of experience and has chosen a good location for easy access from the motorway network. The only black mark against him is he doesn't include Jaguar Forums in his 'Useful Links'.

I'm sure this will change after your visit!

A little further south in Nottingham is one of the World's best independents:

Les Pauls Motors in South Woodford, London (020 8551 8537) - been taking my Jags to them for about 15 years. They were Jag-only specialists, but now cover other makes as well. They're proper car enthusiasts, and understand we're not all made of money, so they will source parts from more cost-effective sources where appropriate.

Had my car in at The Jag Specialist in Doncaster yesterday for the following work......

Rear wishbone bushes replaced.......
Rear shocker bushes replaced........
Cat flexi pipe repair passenger side repaired....
Bonnet switch bypassed ( bonnet open messages and car alarm sounding randomly ).....
New rear brake pads supplied / installed

The car was then tracked straight and true, all good.

She ran like a champ all the way home, actually seemed slightly more power, better economy and most importantly no diesel fumes in the cabin.......well pleased.

Saw nearly 40mpg on the way home as an average, and that was with some fairly long term spirited sessions too, and around 700 miles out of the tank.

Thank you to Chris and Craig at The Jag Specialist

A huge recommendation from me, good work, 2 great guys, very friendly and warm / welcoming too.

I was allowed to watch the work being done at fairly close quarters, asked questions and had them answered.......all in all a great experience and highly recomended.

That solved another of life's great mysteries for me. The location of Scottish football teams. Had no idea where St Mirren was!

In Norfolk but will travel and collect/deliver.
Not Jaguar specific but classics in general and fantastically helpful, did a great job on my XJR-s.

Default G&D Motors

Jaguar Specialist. Greg Lummis

82A Kimberley Park Rd
Falmouth
TR11 2DF

Tel: 01326 211117
M: 07808060221

Formerly with Riders Jaguar, Greg has taken over the lower level of the dealership; the upper level is now a Majestic Wine warehouse. His rates are very reasonable, 10K service approx £138.
Falmouth Tyres (01326 315586), just down the road look after the corners of the car (Front balance just cost £12) while Spray Tech (01326 372651) look after the bodywork. I asked Henry if the few spots of gravel rash were worth painting and was advised not to, honesty, can't beat it.

Had Event Tyres round today for two tyres on the Subaru.
It's the second time that I have used them and the service is excellent.
I ordered the tyres online yesterday evening and they were fitted by late afternoon today.
They come to you and do the job on your drive, no waiting around at garages.
And they are cheaper than anywhere else I looked.
