Hi,

I just moved to Boca Raton Florida. I have a great mechanic is Rockville Center Long Island, and I need one here as I have had a lot of poor experiences at dealers and with supposed jaguar experts.
Does anyone know of an honest mechanic who does not ask for your first born as payment?
I have a new noise, kind of a metal clanging that sounds like it is in the dash, probably in the engine compartment. Kind of like a loose piece of metal banging against other metal.
Since this involves diagnostics I need someone who knows what they are doing.
Anyone with a referral would be greatly appreciated.
I have a 2001 XK8 convertible with around 55k miles that has been well maintained.

Examine your belly pan(s) for tightness.

 

That noise sounds like it could be your upper shock mounts... I am in Boca as well so if you want to meet up I can take a look at it.
