DARRELLLEECE:
Check with someone who knows Ford systems; I believe that JAGUAR was owned by FORD at that time. Either the sensor is faulty or the main computer is misreading the sensor.

Anyone know of a good independent Jag mechanic in Palm Beach area that could do a PPI on an XKR?

Default Great workshop

I wanted to mention a shop I use to look after my pair of Jaguars.
Prestige Eropean at 711 Broward Blvd Fort Lauderdale. Florida
Had some frustrating electrical problems on my 2004 xj8. Eric, the owner found and sorted the problem (broken wire to one of the ECU’s) didn’t charge me a fortune. He brought the shop a year or so ago and is doing well.
Nice people and honest.

Yes! Probably too late for your need, but Was introduced to a fantastic certified Jag tech last year who brought my cat back to life after the transmission failed and did a lot of other work (including tensioners) for a very reasonable price. Contact Enrique at 561-389-5140 or jagtech76@hotmail.com

We've been using a guy in Martin County FL for more than ten years. Talk to Cliff at Palm City Imports. Solid pro, reasonable prices. Recently had a tow truck bend a tie rod after I had to get towed due to flat tire. I called the dealership to order part and was told the tie rod couldn't be replaced by itself and they had to replace the entire steering rack. That was going to be roughly $3800. I went to Cliff, he ordered inner and outer tire rods and the bill was under $500, including an alignment.

Just curious if you ever found a Jag tech in Panama City other than Henry’s Import?

I can wholeheartedly recommend Enrique as well. He used to work at the Jaguar dealership here in town and is currently employed at a high-end Italian car dealership in the area. He’s based in the Lake Worth section of West Palm Beach. An Enterprise rent-a-car location is less than a mile away. He has converted his large garage into a well-stocked service facility with lifts. Because of this low overhead he will probably charge less than your current indy tech, not to mention any Jag dealer. I recently brought my car in with several problems – transmission (several faults with it), an oil leak, and a worn snorkel hose (replacing this brought my car back to life!). The transmission had several problems. I was prepared to pay $(000) to either rebuild it or purchase a remanufactured one. Instead, Enrique had proprietary Jaguar software that allowed him to reset the transmission back to like new, which cost a small fraction of what I would have paid otherwise. So I highly recommend him – he’s completely honest, down to earth, and his knowledge of our cars is second to none. Enrique can be reached at jagtech76@hotmail.com or 561.389.5140. Tell him Bob sent you.

Any recommendations for good techs/mechanics in Atlanta (Alpharetta).
The local dealer is Jaguar North Atlanta. Was hoping to find an independent.
Thanks,

Just wanted to provide you all an update with my experiences of a couple of Jag techs in south florida. I originally took my XKR to Mitch at Jag Repairs in Pompano Beach as it was fairly close for me. My car spent more time in his shop than it did with me - I had a coolant leak and he replaced all of the hoses and pipes - I then experienced leaks again 3 times, so it went back to him where he told me that one of the plastic parts had broken (and it is a manufacturing issue). I also had the car serviced the first time it went to him, and he was unable to reset the service light - I guess that should have been a serious red flag.

This week, my car went to Enrique Gochicoa in West Palm - what a difference - he was honest, fixed my issue I was having very quickly, and communicated every step of the way. It's a bit further for me to go, but going forward, this is where I will take my car. His number is 561 389 5140 and email is jagtech76@hotmail.com - I wish I'd listened to the folks that had recommended him on this thread

Glad to hear that you and others have also had great experiences with Enrique! Quick update on his location. As MediaBob mentioned, the shop was originally at his home in Lake Worth. Enrique reached out last week to let me know that he has opened a larger shop at 1023 Okeechobee Blvd. in West Palm Beach and is now available full-time 8 am to 6 pm. jagtech76@hotmail.com or 561.389.5140

Just out of curiosity, where in South Florida are you a Jag Tech? I realize this post is from 2008.

I'll give the guy a call; I have a leaking coolant problem, also. However, the address of 1023 Okeechobee looks to be a vacant lot in a very, very expensive real estate area, right near to the Kravis Center. I need to make an appointment so I'll call and see what the location is.
