I'm a new member in the Palm Harbor/Clearwater area. Just bought a 1997 XK8 being delivered (hopefully soon) from JaguarSpecialties ib northern california to my engine guy in Ocala. He is rebuilding a 5.3 LS engine and L460E tranny for it. I will be selling the nonrunning engine and trans currently in the car if anyone is interested. I'm 77 years old and have been into cars since 1957. My son and I founded StreetRodding.com and ran it for nearly 20 years. My interest have always leaned towards street rods and muscle cars.so thats why this car is getting an LS engine. I apologize to all the "purist" in advance but we all have our preferences... right. I love the lines of the car as it is the same as an Aston Martin I first ran into an LS powered XK8 at a car show in Tarpon Springs three years ago (the one where the guy got shot). I have no idea who the owner was but I fell in love with the car (and I've never seen it since). Looking forward to meeting anyone not offended by my engine choice. I normally attend the Friday night cruise at Checkers on US19 in Palm Harbor and Steak & Lube thursday nights in St Pete. It will be a few weeks before I am actually driving my car as it is still sitting in Calif waiting to be picked up. My cell is 727-452-4814 (hope it's ok to say that). Everyone have fun and say hi sometimes.

Welcome BigAl!
Congratulations on your new project! Can’t speak for anyone else, but I think that sounds like a great project. I’m also one of the few JCNA members who doesn’t care about Concours. Cars should be driven and enjoyed, IMO. It’s nice to look at pretty things sure, but the fun is in taking it down the road.
I don’t follow the XK forums but there are a few folks locally that are having fun with theirs. I’ll send you a PM. Personally, I’m in a white XF and FType in Dunedin. Stay safe on 19, and hope to see you at a meeting soon!

I look forward to meeting you and other jag owners. Maybe when my car is here and running we can get a group together for coffee in the area. Thanks for the warm reception....
