2014 Katie's Cars & Coffee - Great Falls, VA
Some more vehicles of interest from today.
The 'airplane' is an actual Cessna fuselage, on a Toyota van chassis, built for the 24 Hours of Lemons racing series. Note the Toyota steering wheel, with the Cessna yoke on the right side. This vehicle appropriately parked next to Eric Z's car, since Eric is a co-founder of that race series.

A cool, rainy morning doesn't really cancel Katie's, but it does make for a smaller crowd - almost like it used to be, years ago. Some of the faithful still show up, to talk about cars... Jim H. & I helped prove that British cars don't melt in a little rain.
The first picture is of Katie's, though my windshield, at 6:00AM. No, I was not the first attendee there.

The first day of November, and the temperature was low- to mid-forties. What seemed to keep a lot of people away was what they thought was the threat of rain - WIMPS! It never rained, all morning. A smaller turnout, but still good-quality cars, and enthusiastic owners. Lots of interesting British vehicles, too!

Yes - he has at least two Alvis. Owner said the original owner of this was Tony Curtis.
Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend started out in the mid-thirties. The crowd at Katie's started out slow, but we eventually had a respectable turnout. We even had a couple of Jaguars there!

Threatening weather (but not actual rain) made for a slightly disappointing morning. Still, a handful of regulars showed up, and more people came, later in the morning.

Also...amazing Corvair van...extremely rare... and I liked seeing the Fiat Spiders, esp the one with vintage luggage... that was my first car back when I was a kid!
A light turnout last week, because of threatened rain. This Saturday morning was cold but clear, so a lot of people came out. As we have seen before, slow weeks are often followed by big turnout weeks. A good turnout of Jaguars, especially.

The last weekend before Christmas... We had a slow start, but ended strong today. We had a big influx of cars right after 8:10AM. A pretty good day for Jaguars, too!
