It was cold when I drove to Katie's early this morning, but it was not snowing. It started snowing lightly after 7:00AM, but did not amount to much. Then, around 8:00AM, it started snowing more heavily. We had a reasonable turnout today -- we did have an F-Type there -- but most people decided to leave shortly after 8:00AM, to beat the worst of the bad roads. The drive home was intense.

Strange January weather this week... This morning was 47F, overcast, with intermittent very light mist; no rain.
The salt had been washed away by recent rains, so we had a reasonable turnout at Katie's, though most people arrived a little later than usual. No Jaguars today, though.

A pretty good Saturday at Katie's... David beautiful E-Type was prominent.
(That's not just another Mustang, it's the 526hp GT 350R, complete with carbon fiber wheels.)

What a beautiful morning! Not at all typical of a late February morning - I saw 57F at 5:00AM today. Last Saturday, same time, was 29F. People came out and enjoyed the morning, including several Jaguars.

I did a quick visit to Katie's this morning. I had to an event in Pennsylvania, so I was only around for a bit over 2 hours. It was still time well spent.
I only saw 1 Jaguar today, though...

Katie's had a smaller turnout this morning - it was cold today, and lots of regulars are at Amelia Island for the concours. One nice side-effect was, we had several groupings of cars by marques; not something that can usually happen when we are crowded. David G's beautiful E-Type was front-and-center.

On the way home from Katie's on 03/11/17, I was twice warned by oncoming cars of speed traps. One on Georgetown Pike, less than a mile from Katie's, and another on Hunter Mill, just off Baron Cameron. Thanks to those alert drivers for flashing their headlights! (I am very careful near Katie's, since it is just 25mph in Great Falls Village, and 35mph farther down Georgetown Pike, but Hunter Mill might be a different story...)
We all need to be aware of our speed, but not just to avoid tickets. A friend forwarded the picture below to me. It seems a Ferrari driver on Georgetown Pike (almost certainly headed to Katie's) swerved to avoid a deer, and hit a tree. Luckily, no reported serious injuries, but imagine doing that to your car!
Let's be careful out there!

I didn't go to Katie's last week, because it was sleeting when I woke up last Saturday. What a difference a week makes! It was 55 degrees when I drove to Katie's this morning. Predictably, the warm weather brought EVERYBODY out! (An amazing amount of Jaguars there today... I missed getting a picture of the E-type in back, damn it!)

A cool April 1st at Katie's. My wife and I bought a new 'adult' car this week - a Subaru Legacy. In the spirit of April Fool's, I got to the lot extra-early, and left the Subaru where I normally park. When a fellow early-rising friend showed up, I walked over and asked if he saw the obnoxious guy that took 'my' parking spot, and he said he didn't know, but said he had not parked next to the car, in case it was a careless civilian. Then, I walked over and took my camera out of my car.
There were several Jaguars there today, though nothing like last week. The local Corvair club brought out 7 fine examples.
The last picture is a gazebo in the center of the green behind Katie's. I took the picture at 5:40AM.

This past week was filled with strange weather; nice & temperate early in the week, with violent thunderstorms Thursday, and high winds (including some tornadoes in the area) on Friday. Saturday was cold, clear & GREAT! Not a great Jaguar turnout, but a big Land Rover contingent!

A beautiful morning - in the mid-fifties before 6:00AM. As you'd expect, a very big turnout at Katie's this Easter weekend. Here are some interesting vehicles we had not seen before.
