Default Fun at MIR in September 2015

Let's get another nice group of Jaguar owners to meet at Maryland International Raceway (MIR) just like we did in the Fall of 2014.

Please let me know if you are interested in joining us for Test-N-Tune on Sunday, September 27. Everyone who races has a chance to win $2,500 in a Gambler's Race. If you are traveling from a good distance you can even get discounts on hotels.

Adult Admission: $15.00
Junior Admission: Ages 12-15 $10.00
Child Admission: Ages 11 & under FREE!

Entry Fees
Test & Tune - $30.00
"No Time" Test & Tune - $40.00
Entry Fee includes driver's admission so the total if you race is still only $30.

Gates Open: 10:00 am
Time Runs: 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
Eliminations: 3:00 pm (Gambler's Race)
Gates Close: 6:00 pm

If this date does not work for you there are additional dates available to look at before the track closes. Chime in with your preference.
  • Oct 18, Sun, Test & Tune
  • Nov 1, Sun, Test & Tune
  • Nov 15, Sun, Fall Performance Swap Meet / Test & Tune
  • Nov 22, Sun, Test & Tune
  • Nov 29, Sun, Test & Tune

I am interested. Wondering what Jackie will run in the 1/4. Granted, might be a little fun to make a little smoke too.

On a side note, is there any requirement for a helmet or the like as long as you are not exceeding the 12.0 second time? Just making sure.

Helmets are required for 1/4 mile passes below 14 seconds but not all tracks are sticklers to the rule.

You may get one or two passes below 14 seconds before they catch you at MIR but you will not be able to run all day. MIR typically follows all rules and is managed very well.

I just noticed that the day that we are looking at is the same day as APOJ6. May find that more people are going to attend if it is scheduled for a different weekend.

Default MIR on 11/15/2015

It was a beautiful day at MIR but a bit too warm for achieving best times. The air temps warmed to 60F by my first run.

Pass #1
60' 2.0x
1/8 mile 83mph
1/4 mile 13.3x at 105mph

Pass #2
60' 2.3x (spun tires)
1/8 mile ?
1/4 mile 13.5x @ 106mph

Hope to see some of you next weekend...
