Default De-Carbonization

After watching the Wheeler Dealers episode on the XK-8, I was impressed how Ed China was able to improve the overall emissions and performance of the Jag. I was wondering if anyone has done this and did you see the benefits he described? Also, the most important question, what was the cost?
Thanks

Kurt:
Hmmm... No takers here it seems. Did you post your question to the xk8 forum as well?

I am wondering the same thing, so I am asking this again, in March 2013.

My guess you'll get the same lack of response.

With no known exceptions, engines that are not broken cannot be fixed no matter how much money you waste on them.

Answered in January or so in a thread started by the Admin in one of the other sections.

As for "broken" engines, there is also the question of "not at peak performance". Especially with regard to emissions.

Hi all. I got this "Terraclean" treatment dine to my 1995 XJR6 X300 with 169,000 miles on the clock. I too saw it done on Wheeler Dealer and thought it worth a try. Before the treatment I used a bore scope to see what the carbon built up was like and as expected there was some. After the treatment the engine simply felt smoother from idle to full throttle and improved responsiveness. I used the bore a ole again and could see a big difference with most if not of the carbon gone. It cost me €130 in total and it was worth it. Martin XJR6. Ireland.

I'm sure I have a thread about it somewhere....

I had this treatment done on my A6 at around 90k or so iirc

I noticed a better smoother idle and a slight increase in mpg......all good for around £80 here in the UK.
