Default Driving 300 Miles in XJ6

Purchasing an 83' XJ6, driving it home around 300 miles. The car is in "good running shape", has a battery discharge issue when turned off, but otherwise seems fine. Has all yearly checkups up until 2014, and was driven almost daily until a year ago. Since then, only 300 miles have been put on. Should I have it shipped instead?

Get yourself a "jump box" and charge it up beforehand. 300 miles could be done in an easy day anyway.... Have an adventure!

Did just that!

Trip went without a hitch. She does drag fuel. Filled both tanks once, and put another $20 in after. Arrived with one empty and one at half tank.

Good to hear you got home without incident.

Recalling my XJ6's, I'd have expected around 20 UK gallons for 300 miles which is equivalent to 24 US gallons.
