I've had my 02 X Type for a month now and learning the car is a big PITA! After thermostat and hose replacement, sensor craziness experience and a new battery now the heater doesn't work. Fan is fine, just no heat now. Coolant is at level, engine temperature is right on. Any new ideas... love the car, but too many problems. Getting this fix then selling it at a big loss.. Sucks!

 

Most likely you have air in the heater core. You need to burp the cooling system. Do a search in the X-type forum and you can find the steps to do it.
