Default Need new Valve Cover Gasket Replaced

I have a 2002 Type S 4.0, the passenger side valve cover gasket needs to be replaced. Can anyone provide how to approach this job? Breakdown sequence special tools needed, and other miscellaneous parts needed besides the gasket?

Al little about the car, it is a 2002 with 57000 miles on it. the gasket is not the only problem, all the rubber suspension components are dry rotted and need to be replaced. This car was my mothers, and when she passed I was given the car. As you can see it was barely driven, and stored inside in FLA.

The dealer wants $13,000 to fix the suspension and leaking gasket, so I am trying to do the small stuff to cut the cost down. I have already replaced two ignition coils, and some smaller items.

Any comments from sell the car to how to reproach fixing it would be great!

You might check out Becker Service Center near 75th street and Naperville-Plainfield road. That's where I take my XK8. Last time I was there he had two other XK8's in the shop. Should be a lot less than dealer cost

Thanks for the recommendation, have you had this type of work done by them? I thought they were just tiers and alignment....

They do just about everything. On my xk8 they did a tranny flush and pan/filter replace, engine belt and coolant tank replace. Previously on my 928 they did a complete timing belt/tensioner rehab. Very professional and honest IMO.

The car has significant dry rot on the rubber components on the suspension. Every rubber bushing is cracked and falling apart.
