Hi Jim
Welcome to the Jaguar Form and the Wisconsin link. I'm located Northeast of you about 100 miles Northwest of Green Bay. When you get a chance you might want to add a photo of you 98 XJ8.

I'm a new member from Jackson, Wisconsin. I purchased a immaculate 2004 XKR convertible with low miles (15,000) from a gentleman in NY state a couple of weeks ago.

I'm searching the forum for technician recommendations for future reference.

Regards,
Gary

Welcome Gary,
This is such an informative forum that if you have any technical questions you should be able to get all the answers you need to pretty much tackle any repairs on your own

Thanks, Jim.
I've found plenty of information already! I'm looking forward to learning much more and hopefully, I will be able to contribute one day.
My brother recently acquired an XJR 100. Lovely car! Look forward to seeing yours someday.

I know a multicar tech independent shop in Colgate whom is honest and priced reasonably, if thats not too far for you. Bad: So honest that it's hard to get an appointment.

He straightened my plastic (whats the name of it? Houses that area) to fix a coolant leak & replaced open t-stat for $100. He even ordered a new one OVERNIGHT in case he couldnt straighten it & returned it himself, charged me nothing.
It's been good for 30,000 miles since the repair & still fine. Private message me for the name of the place.

Question Milwaukee Concours Aug. 27-28th

I've been seeing advertisements for this online, but there is no clear information on how to visit either day...other than pre-purchased tickets.

Out of fear of not being able to view the cars, I just went online and purchased tickets for both days.

Is anyone going or is there any more information that I'm missing?

Clueless.

Default New XJR Owner

Greetings,

Finally acquired the XJR I've desired for 12 years. Drove it for four days then put it into storage for the winter. I'm just west outside of Madison.

Welcome to the forum and to the club, Tim. Congrats on the purchase. It's going to be hard waiting the next couple of months to enjoy the car, but I find that the occasional wintertime peek under the cover in the garage whets the appetite.
Cheers,
Scott

Default Get together for a pint.

Hey Tim,
I'm on the West side of a Madison also. Maybe we should have a little get together with fellow Jag owners over the winter months?
Anyone interested in downing a few pints somewhere?

Terry

Welcome, Tim!

I'm just putting my XKR to bed after spending a great summer getting acquainted. I am going to change the oil and filter and find a good day to venture out for a full tank of petrol.
Then it will be a long winter I fear, before venturing out again. I do have a number of new buffing and detailing items ready to entertain me for the next few months though.

If there are any get together event planning chats in the future, I'd be happy to consider, even though I am 70-80 miles from you all.

Congratulations on your acquisition!

Gary

Yes Scott, I'll probably venture out to the location and
make sure the Cat is ok during the winter.

Terry,

That sounds good. Maybe after the first of the year.

Gary,
It would be a pleasure to have you come to a meet and greet this late spring. Let's hope that this winter isn't too long.
Cheers- Tim

I just moved to Janesville from Las Vegas. So far I've seen a x308 and a maroon earlier model XJ6 downtown.
