i'm actually in new york, but was wondering if anyone down there would help out a fellow jag lover by taking a look at a potential new (to me) car that's located in delaware.

I just joined the Forum. I am the second owner of a Series I 1973 Jaguar XJ6. I live in New York now - but will be retiring next month to my place in Lewes, DE. Every year in the early summer there is a Car Show with many different year Jags. It's held in Lewes, if that's any help.

Welcome to the forum! I am in Newark, DE but also spend a lot of time at another home in Lewes (Pilottown Park off of New Road). I will keep an eye out for your XJ6!

That's funny...I found the post under "new threads" so didn't think to look at the post date. You are probably correct in thinking the car is no longer available...lol

hey guys!
thanks for the responses. yes indeed the original post was nearly a year ago. and in that time, i've actually picked up 2 (yes 2) XJSs.

the first was a rusted out ol' betty and had to be put to pasture before she lost the rear suspension on the highway. the second however, requiring a trip to florida to collect, has been a peach!

thanks again for the help!

We are enjoying our VDP. You certainly get a lot of car for the money on used vehicles. It's got a smooth ride and very quiet. I am also very happy with the power, even though I was originally looking for an XJR with the 400hp package. I bought a short wheel base, thinking it looks sportier than the L, but I read that the long wheel base handle just as well. I certainly recommend taking the red one out for a test drive...I also enjoy the touch screen computer...recommend looking for a car with that feature if possible....very easy to navigate stereo, climate, and Nav controls at touch of a finger...great technology, especially on my car which is now 9 years old. Lots of other nice bells and whistles (save for the totally inadequate cup holders built for shot glasses versus conventional sized cups..LOL). The cabin is beautiful with tons of wood and leather, and the 320watt Alpine sound system is great!

Tim
