Historic Festival @ Lime Rock Park, CT Jagaur premiere sponsor, Labor Day wknd
I finally have the information RE the Historic Festival at Lime Rock, coming up Labor day weekend, August 31st - Sept 3rd.
Here is a quick run down of the weekend events/activities.
First off, Sir Stirling Moss will be present throughout the race grounds and there will be several autograph signing opportunities throughout the weekend. There will be over 300 historic race cars, being put through their paces in 10 or more classes, from pre-WW1 cars up through the mid eighties F1/LeMans type cars. Plus a massive car show with a special invite only Concours and a "Gathering of the Marques" show that spans the entire 1.53 miles of the track. This show usually draws over 600 cars.
Jaguar is the premiere sponsor and as such, has afforded us, as Jaguar Club members and Jaguar owners, some special benefits.
Number one, we will have special discounted parking for the Jaguar Car Corral on Saturday Sept 1st, in the outfield (so far that is the plan, if it changes, we will attempt to get the word out asap) at the massive Jaguar Cars hospitality tent. For those who went last year; just like last year. The discount is 33% off regular car corral parking... $10 instead of $15... Second, special event hats will be handed out by Jaguar for the first 50 participants. Those same first 50 participants will get to participate in parade laps out on the Lime Rock track. LRP has revised its parade lap system a bit and the last race we attended with our autocross Toyota XRS they allowed us about 10 minutes on the track, and we were able to get up near 80mph at some points. They did slow us down at select locations where much higher speeds could have been attained. We'll see if thats still in play at the Historic Festival.
Third, at the Gathering of the Marques car show on Sunday, we will have special "front row" parking just past the Concours cars, along the first turn, Big Bend.
One must also purchase event tickets however to attend. EX: If you're only coming up for the Saturday events, then you would need to purchase a race ticket ($33 advance, $50 gate) and then pay the $10 parking pass. Weekend tickets (all 4 days) are $88 advance/$150 gate and the special Fan Hospitality tickets (see www.limerock.com for the specifics) are $110 per day.
To access the special discount, simply visit www.limerock.com and go to the Historic Festival section, then click on Car Corral Parking, click on Jaguar Car Corral Saturday Parking, then enter Jaguar2012 (all as one word) in the special code section to get the discount.

The entire weekend is a blast and I hope to see some familiar faces but also would love to see our new faces as well. Practice and qualifying on Friday; practice and racing on Saturday; super humongous car show on Sunday and more racing on Monday. Although not mandatory, if you plan on attending, if you could shoot me a quick email President@JCSNE.org that would be great, allows me to communicate with Jaguar as to how many people to expect in the car corral.
