Default Independence weekend meet?

I've got a couple days off coming up and I was wondering if anybody wanted to get a meet going for the 3rd or 4th? I could go for a northern NY or southern CT trip. Maybe find some nice roads and a little caravan going? Traffic might be bad that weekend in some places but most of us 'should' have time off for it.
Does anybody have any ideas as far as location or what day? I'm off Thursday-Wednesday so any day really is good for me. Hopefully I'll have my Jag back by then...
Input?

Default Monday July 5th?

How about Monday July 5th?

Idea for a location - Bear Mountain Lodge - Big parking lot at the lodge (which is closed) and a beautiful cliff-hugging road from Peekskill to the Bear Mountain Bridge.

Or, up Perkins Memorial Drive to the top of Bear Mountain by the tower.

Both would be very nice, and both are accessible NY/NJ/CT area

The 5th is actually doable for me. Unfortunately I won't be in the Jag as it's still in the shop. Anybody else?

Default Sigh...

Sigh... Two dudes and one cat does not a good meet make.

I guess we need more advance planning and better publicity. I couldn't find a Facebook page for Jag fans (just the official racing page) to publicise this. I think we'd just have to spam this forum leading up to it, sending private messages to the cats who note themselves as living in the NY Metro area (and, um, Weymouth.)

I think Bear Mountain is a great spot to do it - its accessible to NY, NJ and CT, and has beautiful windy roads and mountain views.

We could always petition the moderators to make one. Or make our own NY/CT Jag page for meets and communication purposes... That's not a bad idea. Wonder if we should start a thread on that or just do it and invite people.

Guys, for a successful meet you really have to give aleast 2-3 weeks notice!
Please pick a date and feel free to start a new thread, probably in the regional section is best. Multiple threads on this in different sections won't be allowed, but there's nothing to say for example, that you can't check out all the posters in your regional section and send them a mail inviting them to the meet?
If required, myself and the mods will be happy to help promote your meet in the run up, make it a sticky and help to bump it to the top regularly to get the best exposure possible.
All the best guys
