Default 2016 Drives

There's been some mighty fine sunshine lately! Don't be afraid to jump in and set up a quick drive. I'm sorry I've been crazy-busy with work-stuff and a bit under the weather. I feel like I'm dropping the ball here! We started last year with a drive up to Artist Point in May, and it was a gorgeous run, if not a teensy bit long. Any ideas to set 2016 off right? I hope to be back in the saddle pretty soon.

Oh boy. All three of my cars need oil changes. Where to find the time?!!

Hummmm ideas?.....

-Passes are still an issue, but Hood Canal loop has always drawn more than a few cats out of the garage.
-The 101 to Astoria is a long day but I recall many of us having fun there. (if weather was in our favor, a simple run to Ocean shores or Westport is light and easy.)
-Whigbey Island loop.
-Back roads to Satsop
-About 2 weeks for Hurricane Ridge to open (but I hate the gravel they lay down for the first month)
-The other club ran up to Lummi Island. Long day but fun and good food.

What else am I missing?

So, for the spontaneity of it, anyone interested in a drive to Port Townsend this weekend? I could be convinced to go as far as Port Angeles for a lunch, but the roads there are pretty dull. P.T. at least offers some back roads, and a stretch or two to let your kitty wake up and show off her heritage. Maybe meet up in Kingston?

Sorry to say I'm not ready for a loop of the Hood canal just yet but I suspect Muddy or I will offer up that run as we see a few more sunny weekends lining up.

We need to start a 2016 Calendar of events thread as well, so if anyone has knowledge of any interesting car events and dates... Let get that thread started!

Hwy 123 (Chinook Pass) is already in the clearing stages (https://flic.kr/s/aHskwSvPwF), but the end of May is the typical opening. I'll offer a run on the 28th of May for any interested. Or if it opens sooner, I like to be on that first weekend. Food for thought....

Lets get ideas flowing folks! It's your group, and we are seeking even more Jag owners each year!

Peace,
Vince

I'm definitely interested in the next drive. I don't have any suggestions for a drive but I'll be watching this forum closely!

The spring Jag Club rally is this Saturday in Tacoma. Is anyone going? I thought about it.

Wow.
Looks like this weekend just might be road worthy!
Looking at the last three years, May and April drives (not all with the Jag family) have been plentiful.
Several of us have driven an Astoria-Longview loop as well as a Longbeach-Longview loop, a Rainier loop(Cayuse pass opened early), a run to Snoqualmie Falls, a Hood Canal loop, and last year a run to Lummi Island!

But here I sit with two beautiful days approaching, wondering what direction I should point the Jag. Interestingly enough, WSDOT says Cayuse pass will open this Friday the 29th.... Hummm, guess I might just loop the mountain Saturday or Sunday.....

Any Takers? (It's an all day thing, sorry...)

Not a Jag one joining the drive... -sigh-
I'm not missing out on this one. Mounds of snow both sides, and often dry asphalt under your tires.
Add blue sky and what more could you ask for?

Sorry. Something came up Saturday morning, too. Just wasn't meant to be. You two have fun.

Well, Sassafras!

I've been offline and otherwise out of the loop lately and just saw this tonight. If I'd seen it 24 hours earlier I would have been there!

Am I to understand that Vince has a new toy? Hmmm, 500+ horsepower, bright red, detector or no detector can we just call it the "ticket collector?" I shudder to imagine Vince with 200 extra hp under his shoe! Some lucky buyer will get a great machine buying his old one.

Sigh.... Yup, lord help me.. I'm going to get in so much trouble now... Might have to plead to my fellow Jag brethren to NOT put me up front during any of our drives... (well, except for the fast ones )

Cool! What do you guys think of a short twisty drive to snoqualmie falls after ERTC-Jag day for a destination lunch? I can see about getting reservations and maybe getting them to valet park us in the circle out front of the lodge.
