Default 2017 Drives!

I just scouted 112 this Saturday through Joyce up to Cape Flattery. Wow, what a road! It got me thinking about drives this year. Anybody feeling the itch yet? My life got kind of busy last summer, but I'm going to try and be a bit more proactive this season. I think it's about time to do canyon road again. How is that in the early spring? Lots of road, so little time...

It has been nearly a year for me, and I'm ready. Do you think we could make the Hoh Rain Forest in a one day trip, or is that too ambitious?

Love 112, except for the logging trucks... Encountered 2 Sheriff on that route two years or three ago... Long day to Flattery, even from my side of the water, but I'm game.

Rain forest is a no go for a one day.... Been there... Done that, and found myself pushing nearly every limit to the point of "Down right scary" to make it happen. (And if I found the push scary.... well.....)

I'd love to figure a two day, just to play the roads and vistas in that area. Flattery is stunning, but you need to really take time to enjoy it. Hoh is the same. (How could you dare race through the Hall of mosses?)
Kalaloch is a nice stopping place abet a tad spendy for folks like me. Forks offer basic amenities at best.

We stayed at Kalaloch once. Nice little cabins. Right on the water. Decent restaurant.

I'm down for a one day drive but not a two day.

Let's put together an early season one day low altitude drive. Maybe March 11 or 25, or April 1 or 8. We could do the Juan de Fuca run to Neah Bay, or perhaps an excursion to Birch Bay or Peace Arch Park on the Canadian border, or maybe the Whidbey Island loop. How about it?

Thumbs up

I'd love to do this drive with you guys!

This is right in my back yard. Any 112 drive will likely start and end in Port Angeles. I could recommend awesome places either for breakfast at the start of the day or for dinner and a beer or two at the end. My car is in the shop until April 10th (I'll post about that in the X350 forum).
