Default Any central Alabama folks here? Having a meet-and-greet would be nice...

I'm in the Montgomery area. Wondering if it's just me and my wife around here, or do we have any company?

On edit: Also looking to get together with other folks around here just to shake hands and shoot the bull. One of the best things my wife and I have done in recent years is be active in a club for Mitsubishi Starion/Chrysler Conquest cars, and we'd love to do the same for a Jag club.

I recall seeing an ad for a British car club in Montgomery, posted in http://www.thebulletinboard.com/Default.aspx it's a sale book that comes out every Thursday, no ads on a recent search but they may post when they start having meetings. Wait, here they are http://www.montgomerybrits.org/

Default Hey Jess

Moved from Prattville about 2 years ago. Lived there on and off since 1970, but now live in Smiths Station, Al., which is just across the river from Columbus, Ga. Anyway, my wife and I have owned a 2000 Vanden Plas since 2006 and love it.......most of the time....lol. So, know of any reputable, qualified and reasonable Jag mechanics in the area? There is a shop in Columbus called Sports and Imports which I've dealt with, and they seem to do decent work, although a little expensive and not real quick. I actually like doing as much work as I'm able to do myself, but tech info is so dang hard to come by. Anyway, maybe talk to you sometime.......hag1

Default Hello from Montgomery, AL.

I just found and joined the forum this week while troubleshooting a problem with my 1997 XJ6L which I've owned since 2004. I'm in the USAF and have lived in Montgomery for a little more than two years.

Hey guys,

It's been awhile since I've checked this board, and I apologize taking so long to get back.

Delbert: There is a shop on 231 just north of North Boulevard, called Montgomery Import Auto, that works on our cars and has done a good job. The owner is Jerry Robinson. The only complaint I have is they can be a bit erratic with the amount of time they take (we get things back very quickly sometimes, less quickly other times), but he and his whole staff know what they're doing. They'll work on just about anything, including exotics. Prices are reasonable. I've also let Eddie's, north of Prattville, work on my 88 before and they did a very nice job. They're the best A/C shop in the area.

Everyone else: I did join the Montgomery British Car Club that 55chevy provided a link to. It meets the second Monday of every month at Touch Of Class Limousine off the Troy Highway in Montgomery. It's a very nice group of guys, but there are more MGs and Triumphs than anything else.

Smile New XK8 Owner

I'm in Montgomery as well. Just purchased '99 XK8.

Somewhat of an auspicious begining but finally seeing the wide open road without warning lights all over the dash. Ha...! Couple more items to clean up and I'll be really rolling.
It would be good to chat with the Jag brethern...

So, if anyone is still out there in the vacinity of my fair city - drop a line.

Default Jag Club

I'm noticing several new Jags in the Montgomery area. Would be nice to get a club going or if there is one here to get connected.

Gents:
Lets pencil in Saturday January 6, 2013 - 10:00am at the Atlanta Highway Starbucks. If this is undoable I'm open to any alternative. Or we could meet at the Montgomery British Car Club that meets the second Monday of every month at Touch Of Class Limousine off the Troy Highway in Montgomery and try to outnumber the MGs and Triumphs. I don't know any other details - time of day or if they are still going strong...
Let me know...

Have a Happy Holiday!

I plan to attend the next MBC meeting on the 14th. The 6th at Stabucks could work as well. Just confirm it and I'm there.

The 9th is great. Can we move time to later in the day? Maybe around 2PM or so? I have another event to attend at 10AM.

Willie,
I think we have to look at the date for our get together. I think we are meeting at Starbucks, Atlanta HWY - the 5th of January - this coming Saturday at 2:00 pm. Somehow the 9th showed up in a couple of our posts. The 9th is Wednesday - I am working that day - I would guess you are, too. I think we know what we meant. Just want to avoid any miscues.

Default You're All Welcome to Come!

Hello Jess,

I am a 98 Vanden Plas rookie, having owned it @ 1year or so. Seeing jess's Jags made me lustful.
I have been in the Montgomery British car Club since 1992. We have a few Jag owners, but would welcome more any time. we are more of a "social club" with a drive somewhere every month along with our monthly meetings. So sure, check us out sometime.
