Hello everyone,
I need some help with my 08 XJ. I purchased OE Folding outside mirrors and installed them. my center unit already had the option listed for turning them on and off in vehicle status. but there are not working. I spoke to the Jag dealer and they stated they were not sure if programing would solve this and said if they did program it they wouldn't guarantee it would work. I thought this option was a dealer installed option in 08 please help

thanks
Jose

What are your hours and days of operation sir, and maybe an estimated price of just going over the car? I've stated in another post that I'm wanting to do a lo of work myself if I can but I need someone to guide me in the right direction.

Ben7; I've been using George Alecu, an independent in the Richardson area (Centrl Expy & Beltline Rd, 214-213-1318) , for over 20 yrs. He's serviced a '64 E-Type and a '86 XJ6 for me and is a European auto specialist. George is also my go-to guy whenever I need a pre-owned vehicle thoroughly vetted. He's got a gift when it come to automobiles.

I've not heard of John C Edwards..... Is there an address and phone number? If you decide to contact him for service I'd like your thoughts on how it went. It's always great to have a competent independent nearby.

Default Anyone still able to service XJS Jaguars in Austin?

I see notes about possible service option in Houston and Dallas/Fort Worth but....no mention of Austin where I'm told the last XJS V12 mechanic has long gone fishing on the Gulf?
Any suggestions for general tuning...nothing major as yet!
Thanks

Default Update on Momentum Jaguar and any Opinions of (relatively) new Jaguar dealer in Katy?

A lot of the posts praising Momentum Jaguar are from more than 10 years ago. Does anyone know if they are still a good bet for Jaguar service? Also, a Jag dealership recently opened in Katy; anyone visited there or had service done?

Same questions here, any updates for Houston? Specifically Southwest / Sugar Land area?
I have been going to Momentum SW while under warranty (also close to home!), but will soon transition out and am looking for independent shops that can do brakes and other services.
Any experience with the Katy dealership?

Hi
I have been going to Momentum SW, the service advisor, Kevin Sturgess, is pretty knowledgeable, but does do the usual "upsell" at service times, which I politely decline, and he does not push. He has been frank with me, and taken care of the issues I have had promptly.
For me, it's strictly a matter of convenience as I live in SW Houston.
I have a friend who also lives in SW Houston, but takes his car to Central in the Heights as he feels that Momentum is not competent.

I have not been able to find a competent and reliable person or outfit in the Austin, Texas area. There is a guy who advertises on Craigslist as a "Jaguar and Land Rover Specialist" but I was not impressed with his professional approach so was not inclined to risk a "suck it and see" solution.

That's unfortunate, a friend of mine has a 2010 XJL and the suspension completely collapsed, the slammed look isn't bad but not really practical for driving. He had it "fixed" in Dallas and after backing it off the truck it collapsed again.

Of course the Dallas mechanic told him to bring it back.....

Is there anyone around Austin that is competent?

"boiler".I wish. The definitive answer is no, I've not been able to locate a "competent" Jaguar mechanic here in Austin. To be fair, I am "nursing" a 1995 XJS V12 convertible which limited the field considerably. Maybe service for later models might be easier for other Forum Members to address. Sorry.

I note that you are located in Arizona, not Austin, Texas which was my original quest for a competent place to have my 1995 V12 XJS serviced, etc. I finally replaced the shock absorbers and brake pads and rotors myself and think I've found a local shop who are now refurbishing the injectors and fitting a Wizard cooling twin fan aluminum radiator (with $250 of waterless coolant!), sorting-out why my brakes are still not great, new belts and hoses..all ready for Texas summer heat although after this past week, who knows!
I'll reserve any recommendation until the work is complete however if any Member want's to "get a feel" for their work so far, let me know. Thanks for the reply anyway.

Default Indy shop in/near Oklahoma City

As the title asks, does anybody know of a decent independent Jag shop in the OKC area?

Chris read the the thread headline title. Jags Techs in the Southwest. Last time I looked AZ was in the southwest. Texas to me is south central but whatever. Sports Cars Collectors was mention twice and I want to vouch from them as excellent to deal with for members from AZ who are obviously following this thread. You need to get out more as you seem to get your panties in a bunch easily.
