Just bought her but don't really care for these wheels. Will be replacing them as soon as I can.

Good idea. They really don't suit a Jaguar. Black on black would look sweet. I saw one the other day and it really looked good.

Default sweet wheels

Hi Guys,
Is the ride quality adversly affected by the 20" wheel and the lower profile tires. I have a 97 xk8 with factory 17" wheels and I am considering 20", but concerned with a possible harsh ride. Any help appreciated.

Bob,

My last 2001 XK8 had 18" Impeller and my current one has 20" split rim Sepang.

Absolutely no doubt the ride is harsher on the 20" rims. Not sufficiently so to put me off them but I wouldn't deliberately look for this size on my next car.

One other thing to note is the 20" rims are more prone to damage from even minor potholes. Several reports on the forum of rims needing to be straightened.

Yes 20s are a very harsh ride. Currently my 20s are thin with an aspect ratio of 30 and I have to be careful where I drive.

My 20s are great. I finally invested in a quality 225/30/20 Continental tire (versus Falkens and such) and that made all the difference. There are several factors like tire, air pressure and suspension that determine whether ride is harsh. A huge bulbous tire doesn't always equate to better ride.

Real example... On my wife's 2003 Eurovan, I swap the 255/30/22 Dunlops for 225/60/16 all season Falkens in winter and she complains that the ride is worse on the 16s versus the 22s. I am holding out as long as possible to swap the Winter 16s because the ride is so much worse. The 16s per factory spec want 65 PSI, so they are extremely rough riding, but when you lower the pressure to say 45 PSI it feels like the van is going to roll over in corners.

Great looking wheels everyone.

Will the 20" or 19" factory Jaguar rims fit the S-Type with proper clearance?

Just put these 18" Motegi's on my '96 x300.

Bought the car with some 18" ADR rims but found a good deal on the Motegi's that I couldn't pass up. The last picture with the car on a jack are the ADR wheels. The Motegi's are the cross hatch in two pictures.

The wheels are wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 255/45/18. GREAT TIRES.

GORGEOUS!! I was on the Forgestar website and they don't have fitments for the Jag. Did you have those custom made?

Yes. I contacted Jurrian at Modbargains and got them. They told me 6-9 weeks and it took over 5 months; so if you go that route order early and prepare to wait.

Default Just Added Caravellas

Hello-

Just added 19" staggered Caravellas from a 2010 XK. No issues with rubbing or other strange fitment problems.

Reused my 255-40-19 tires from my custom rims. These are narrower than the 275 spec'd for the xk rear 9.5 inch rims. I do not think a 275 would fit.

Thanks-
mag
