Default Recommendations for Wheel Re-chromers....

I'm looking for reputable and reasonable wheel refinishers/re-chromers in the US. We have a 19-inch Atlas chrome front wheel that suffered cosmetic damage when my wife's XK8 was struck three weeks ago by a careless driver. The insurance company intends to replace this wheel, but neither the body shop nor the local Jaguar dealership parts department has been able to locate a suitable replacement in the US or UK.

If you have experience with a reputable wheel shop please provide the name, location, and contact information. Thanks for any assistance in this endeavor....

I have personally had fantastic results and service, provided by Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists, Inc. www.awrswheelrepair.com

I can try to pull out some of my old correspondence I had with their corporate headquarters back when I bought my current STR if you like or need - but probably all you will need to do is surf their site for location/contact information near you & go from there.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

I checked their website and I see no mention of chroming or rechroming. But I will call them to confirm. Thanks for responding....

Right now it appears that my best option may be CalChrome in California. We'll see....

Update:

We finally located a suitable replacement wheel at CalChrome in California. It should arrive at the body shop today or tomorrow....

How was your experience with CalChrome? I've been on their web site recently and am considering getting chrome wheels for the XJL.

Look forward to your comments.

I sent off some fair lattice rims to cal chrome and they returned after chroming in absolutely fantastic new condition. This is my second great experience with them. I found them reasonable, given what we are looking for, and prompt and professional. I dealt with Dave Karasseferian there.
