Default Where can I find performance parts for my XJR?!?

I just purchased a 94,000mile 1996 Jaguar XJR (supercharged inline 6cyl) and I want to make this thing look mean. Im looking for suspension afternarket parts like lowering springs, and then performance engine mods for the future. Someone please help me. Thanks.

There are virtually no performance parts marketed for the XJR/6. A few tidbits are made to order and available from Carl and Andy here:

xjr6.com - Index

Not aware, offhand, of anyone making a lowering kit. Since front camber is non-adjustable you'd have a problem with it. Go to the above site for some custom made off-set suspension bushings which might allow a lowering kit to be installed....if you can find one.

Cheers

Doug's beaten me to it, that forum is the place to ask modding questions, they supply poly bush kits, a custom timing kit and advice on engine mods. I'd ask there.

I don't know if the V8 spring kit will fit the earlier cars, have you asked mina?

The XJ8/XJR8 have a slightly redesigned front suspension. Not sure about fitting those parts to an earlier XJ6/XJR6....they would probably physically fit but I'm not sure what the results would be.

If you lower the suspension how do plan on getting around the non-adjustable camber issue? Better make sure you have this figured out before you spend any money on springs.

Cheers

Well I plan on keeping the offsets for the rims in the stock range so that I wont have to camber them. Ive done alot of research on wheels and im good at picking them out. But ive never owned a jag so im going to start an picture thread that includes wheel fitment info. But ive also noticed that not too many people post pics here. I did some studying with the jag and found out that this one competed with the 5 series bmw and ive owned a bimmer and ive made one look good and mean, I feel like the jag doesnt get enough credit for what it truly is. So im going to build the one the way you should build a mean saloon but im going,to leave it very beautiful inside....... And no I havent asked mina about the lowering springs although I will tonight

I Feel the same way about Jags. That is why I spent 3 days at the SEMA show organizing manufactures to side with me to build jag parts for tuning purposes. I'm determined to show through my new company "Diamond Auto Couture" that Jaguar can stand up next to BMW and other competitors. As you can see we aren't the only ones.

Wheel offset and camber are not related to each other. The undesired camber change when lowering a car will affect tread wear, more on the inside. That's why you need to compensate for that, and it's not possible by changing offset for the wheels.

But on the other hand, when driving on a track, this camber change will do good to even out the tread wear

I have designed and build heim-jointed (rose-jointed) front anti-roll bar drop links. I have also replaced the front top wishbone metalastic bushes with plain phospohor bronze bearings. Both these modifcations improve the handling significantly, though with some reduction in refinement, in the case of the bearings.

I have also produced a number of engine performance modifications. If www.XJR6.com was still up and running you could read about them there. I've only recently joined this forum, but have started posting some threads about my performance modifications in the X300/XJR section.

Actually, they are.

Changing the wheel offset changes the leverage. If you don't change anything else, the camber will change.
