Default 05 x type 3.0 intermitent no start

Hey Guys, New here. I've got a 05 x type 3.0 AWD that has a Crank position sensor problem. Started at begining of this summer when hot and shut off, it wouldn't start back up right away. Got so bad it finally set a code for the crank sensor. Replaced it and worked fine for about 3 weeks and happened again. Replaced it again and lasted 3 days. After you run it for a while, 50 miles or more, if you turn it off most times it will not restart. And if it does, it sounds like a diesel and will hardly pull itself out of it's own way. A few times i've been able to restart it quickly and it will go away. Now it is setting a P0335 CPS A circuit malfunction code. Been thru another sensor (got one from Ford) but still happening but not as frequent. Checked pins at ECM and plug, all clean and none bent. Pulling my hair out chasing this! Any suggestions?
Thanks, Jim

Have you ever changed the battery or checked the alternator (or the grounds)? These cars get strange gremlins when the battery starts to go.

Replace the battery and negative cable. They will give you starting issues at times and will also set a crank sensor code.

Thanks I will give it a shot since nothing else has worked. Kinda makes sense with the wonderful world of computer controlled cars. Will keep you informed.
