Can any one help, have a 2008 X-Type 2.2 diesel, poor starting, changed the battery but no change it's like the battery is only half charged

the new battery has the correct specification? terminals are clean and tightened?

 

Welcome to the forums, Timbow. There are a lot of friendly and helpful people on help willing to help. However, being primarily a US site there are less members familiar with diesels as they aren't sold here, so it might take a bit longer for someone to chime in. You can also help your cause by giving more detailed info on your situation than a brief generic description that it has trouble starting. Was the car running great and all of a sudden did this just come up? Did you recently do any work on the car before this happened? Are there any check engine lights on and if so, can you get the codes read and then post them here? The more detail you give the better chance you have of getting a quick response.

2.2 turbo diesel starting problem,Replaced old battery as a cell went down, ok at first, then slow to turn over as if battery was flat or just a single click when turning the key, checked the connections and that the battery was charged, no warning lights on dash, not been able to get any codes
