Find another dealer..because I'd be willing to bet you won't get very good service from that last one..[&:]

I'm surprised the dealer was that way....Anyways, if they were out to screw you then the smart thing to do is to contact Jaguar ( I think there is a customer Service Phone number in your OM)and voice your concerns about that dealership not honoring the warranty...Something isn't adding up, because from what you say, you should have been covered 100%, unless your mileage is what threw you out of the warranty window.

What dealer? I live in Naperville and go to Patrick Jaguar. They have been very good to me the past 5 years I've owned the car. Oil change there was less than one at the toyota dealer down the street!

But $900 doesn't sound right. Is it anything like the halogen headlights where u just turn a screw to aim up or down?

Hey jagxtypeboy.........
Sounds like you aren't gonna get service from that dealer anymore! I appreciate your feelings about being ripped off but I dont think maybe you handled that as well as you might have. You should've at least discussed it further and asked why they were't covering you. There's also the distinct possibility that they will call the police and it could end up costing you more than $300.

Why not think about it and try contacting them to discuss it further?
Good luck

Jim

I say good for you! I used to go to Elmhurst auto group that is owned buy Patrick and they give me the same B.S. everytime I brought my car in. I allways had to call Select Edition myself to find out what was covered because according to Elmhurst nothing was and they wouldn't even call to check! Now I know to stay away from Howard too!
And those diag. charges are bs! I took my car to AC Imports in Palatine and got great service. Funny but the disagreed with everything that Elmhurst said plus they got my auto adjusting headlights working and also found the problems with my trans. when Elmhurst just kept charging me 120.00 for diag.and telling me that there was no problem. Also lied about the software being up to date. AC did'nt charge for any of it!! I would deffinetly go back there. You really should call Select Edition and find out if the work is covered or not. Then you can file a complaint if it is or come to some terms about the diag. cost if it isn't. But hey, You gave en hell!!

I never ever ever ever go to a Jaguar Dealer to get service. We have Jaguar Specialists here in Charlotte that are much much cheaper than the dealer, and they've been working on Jags for years.

Personally, if my headlights were aiming down, I'd fix that myself. I'm sure it can't be that hard to fix, especially if all they need is to be aimed properly, which takes about 5 mins a side to do.

Howard Orloff is horrible man absolutly the worst dealer never go there.

I live in Rogers Park, but I go to school in Lincoln Park, so Howard is the most convienient for me to go there, but I went there for a key right after I bought my car last year, and they were just total dueschbags. never went again. I drive up to Imperial Motors in Willmette...FIRST CLASS Service. The manager of the service center is David, wonderful guy he knows my car inside out, recognized me over the phone, always gets the work done fast, never overcharges...usually undercharges. They even replaced one of my emblems for free.

Plus I occasionally had my car serviced at firestone, liek this weekend I got a new battery there, but he never even said anything about why I didn't just go to the dealer.

Plus I have mentioned before they once fixed a whole bunch of rust and exterior stuff on my car, it should have cost about 2000 dollars, but because my dad claims he never said to do 2 of the rust spots, they only charged us 600.

In case you don't know the place it's located on Green Bay Road

My dad's cousin actually owns Continental Motors, so he actually knows the guy who owns Howard Orloff. According to my 2nd cousin the owner hires stuck up sales assosiates to give an air of exclusiveness...And that's how the service department felt to.

I work in Retail, and I know if I talked to my customers the way we had been treated at Howard Orloff, I would have been fired on teh spot. An assosiate was so rude to my grandma back in 2001, that she was convinced not to buy an X type and instead went with a Sable from Joe Perillo.
