Default 02 X Type 2.5L Sport Manual Cleaning Throttle Body

So since I have a manual I was experiencing low RPMs or the car would turn off in neutral or when downshifting. I looked up the possible cause and came across cleaning the throttle body. Looked at some videos and decided it wasn't that difficult to tackle. To my surprise unlike the vehicles I had seen with this process being done, my vehicle had an electric flap so I went back to some new videos and found out that I had to remove the part in order to clean it. Taking it all apart was very simple and really glad I did because I had lots of deposits on the back side of the flap that I wouldn't have reached from the front and all it took was removing the 4 screws that hold it on, removing the air sensor and unplugging the 2 plugs on the throttle body but I left the 2 hoses attached to the throttle body and put a towel under the loose part and went to town on it with the throttle cleaner and a tooth brush. Put it all back together, took it for a test drive and my problem was solved. Hope this will help someone.

Default What type of cleaner...

Not sure where you are from but we have advanced auto parts and I talked to one of the guys there and they recommended one made by CRC throttle body and air intake cleaner. Hope it helps.
