my 02 xtype 3.0 liter shut off while my 16 yr old daughter was driving she explained she applied the brake and it shut off..wld not start back nor even turn over. Towed it hm tested batt it is good, headlights come on, radio, dashlights all wrk..windows will not roll dn nor will the trunk open..i can arc the starter and will turn over then but not start...what could be wrong...ecu?ecm?security lock?faulty coil or wiring
? help any clues!

johhny, it sounds like to me that the ECM (the computer that controls the engine) has lost power. I would check the fuses for the ECM first. But, if those are good, then odds are you are looking at an ECM.

Sounds very similar to my issue, except mine didn't shut off. I'm still waiting for it to happen again, but always when applying the brakes it would go into all different faults, try disconnecting the battery first for about 5 minutes.

If everything disappears you might have a code, if it's P0221 or similar you might have to get TB cleaner, dismantle the throttle body and thoroughly clean it. I'm not sure if mine is fixed or not but it's been a couple of weeks with no more issues.
