Default '05 X, wiring.

Having an issue with the left side running light.
At least, I think it's called that, right next to the headlight.
Anyway, said light was out so I replaced the bulb, but to no avail.
No power at connection, fuses all good.
Has anyone seen this problem/ And am I right in thinking I have to take the hole front bumper area loose to get the headlight bucket apart to find the problem?
Thank you, in advance.

If you have no power at the light, check the tail light on the same side. Is it working? If it isn't then most likely the problem is a blown fuse. I don't have the fuse box listing for the 2005 but I know it is in the fuse box under the dash panel on the drivers side.
You shouldn't need to remove the light for trouble shooting. The plug into the light should be accessible from the back of the fixture.

You can follow the link below to a website the Gus runs. A great member of the forum. It will have the wiring diagram for the 2005.

Aocasio, quick check, if you look at the headlight assembly on that same corner, look in the high beam portion of the headlight. You should see a small bulb in there. When you turn on the parking lights, does that light come on? If yes, then odds are you have a bad bulb base and you will need to replace the bulb base (if you need some pointers on this, let me know). If the small bulb in the high beam lens did not come on, then check fuse F47 in the passenger compartment fuse box. If you are still having issues, then let me know and I will give you some checks to do with a multimeter (if you can tell me your experience with a multimeter, that will help me give you the details you will need to get this done in a timely manner).

Thanx Thermo. I should have time tomorow nite to check that out.
Offhand, I can't recall if there was a little light on or not.
I'm a diesel mech, I can use a multimeter and test light well enough to make a living.
I'm also real good at faking it.

Aocasio, oh no, one of those, mechanic that thinks he can bite wires. I can't say much, I am a wire biter that thinks he can turn wrenches. who is more dangerous. LMAO. Let me know what lights you have and then we can take things from there.
