Default 12 Volt power source for auxillary device?

What is a good source for a 12 Volt power supply for an auxiliary device? The power needs to go on and off with the key. (Drivers side)

Thanks in advance.

I used the fuse panel under the dash, phone power source.

I'd use the SIGNAL from the ignition relay in the engine compartment:
Use this signal to operate another new relay.
You have not given any information reg. that aux, device, but that way, you would not overload the ignition relay.

MR RX TT, I guess for me, I need to know a little bit more to make sure you get what you need. So, here goes the questions:

1) where do you need it powered? Ie, where is said new piece going to sit?
2) how much power does it require? (Normally for me, I can get a good idea just by knowing what you are powering).

If you are looking for something that is USB powered, they make some nice and easy install pieces that replaces your cigarette lighter plug and gives you dual 2.1A outputs. It gets hard wired into the car and gives a flush mount to the dash. They are like $10 each. Most will also show you the battery voltage which is a nice bonus.

If you are looking at something under say 5 amps and need it up near the driver's seat, then I would simply tap off the back of the cig lighter and call it good.
