Thanked 54 Times in 35 Posts

This could be anything from fuel rail pressure problems to loose hose connection(s) to injector problems, egr valve etc etc
This forum being USA based so most on here dont have the diesel as it was never available over there
If you search the UK forum there have been a number of posts in the X Type section with your symptoms coming from a number of causes but all with loss of power, glow light and most with smoke.
First thing to do is get the codes read which could well pinpoint the cause
Good luck
