My code on sticker in door pillar shows 02/04. Does this mean Feb 4th or April 2nd?

 

Neither. It means February, 2004. The manufacturing day is never shown on the sticker, partly because the car is on the assembly line for more than a day. I don't know how long it took the X Type to be assembled, but the XJ and XK cars took about 7 days in total from a body shell entering the assembly line to a finished car driving out the other end.

 

Ok thanks so I have an early 2004 build before they made " improvements " then it sounds. Appreciate the clarification
