are you putting a bag or something else in the passenger's seat? these seats have sensors to disengage if there is a babyseat. Just an idea.

Any weight on the passenger seat of less than 7-8 stones and the light willstayon to indicate that the airbag in the dash has been disabled. Its a child safety feature and is controlled (I think) by the position of the seat (ie how far forward it is) and the weight on the seat.
If there is nothing on the seat the light should stay off.

valeriegarnett,

Welcome and congrats on your new purchase! I have had my Jag for almost 4 months and the wife still makes fun of me for "babying" it.....I love it and with snow in the forcast I am looking forward to the AWD!

From my experience hankycbr and BuckMR2 are correct. The slightest weight in the passenger seat (like a notebook portfolio, or kid, or 2 liter of pop) will cause the passenger side air bag light to come on. If you are putting something in the passenger seat try putting it in the floor. If you still have a light issue then have it checked out.

Any one have any experience on resetting the air bag light?

Cadillac - is that the dealer secret for resetting the sensor? I ask because I have been told that my driver's side air bag sensor needs to be reset. Have had it checked out, told it is in working order, sensor just needs to be reset.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hope NONE OF US ever have to find out how well the work! Happy driving all!

Cheers,

D

In fact, the dealers use a special item called Tech II .It's a very pro machine not you can find for $100 on ebay .I think your dealer to use itto reset the sensor .
Keep us posted with your gremlin and hope it will be as cheap as you want

That little light had me puzzle too for a while. I then pulled out the manual and sure enough, it was there. What a relief.
The other little thing that could not figure out was the little beep sound I kept hearing. It turns out it was the recirc on the climate control reverting to OFF. Is there a way to keep the recirc ON all the time? I hate having to smell the exhaust of other cars.

Keep your finger on the recirc button until it beeps and it will stay on until you turn it off

I am glad that I could help with the airbag light for the passenger side. I learned alot when I joined this forum.

Thanks Buck, but I always wondered how to keep the recirc on. Never knew that!

First things first welcome...Yeah I didn't know that about the recirc either...love the feature though as it sounds like a jet is about to take off!

I was just asking my wife if she heard that beep too! Now I know what it is, after wondering aloud whether it was a self-destruct alarm

Huh? I'm speaking of the beep that our climate control makes when we press buttons and change the settings?

Is there a way to make that stay on forever until you turn it off not just last until you turn the car off?
